Yesterday was World Bee Day, and we’ve got a related announcement that we’re buzzing to share. We’re expanding our Your Planet Your Choice initiative, giving our clients even more choice in how their projects help the planet.

So, without further ado. Bee-hold our announcement:

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust is joining our line-up of amazing charities.

Yes, the Your Planet Your Choice tokens given to our clients through their work with us can now be donated to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust. Every token is worth a £30 donation, so some projects could result in hundreds of pounds being donated.

Now, before we go any further about the amazing work done by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, let’s take a step back.

What is Your Planet Your Choice?

Your Planet Your Choice is Amplitude’s flagship environmental campaign, and sees us donate 5% of our net profits to environmental charities. It works like this:

As clients work with us, they accrue Your Planet Your Choice tokens. The size of the project determines the number of tokens. Bigger projects = more tokens. Nice and simple.

At the end of the project, we invite our clients to decide which charities they’d like to donate their tokens to. They can give them all to one charity, or split them across several. Every token is worth…

• £30 donated to protecting bee habitats with The BumbleBee Conservation Trust
• 30 trees planted with One Tree Planted
• £30 donated to clearing plastic from the oceans with The Ocean Cleanup
• £30 supporting the care and rehabilitation of orangutans with International Animal Rescue

What’s so great about the BumbleBee Conservation Trust?

We’re glad you asked. Here’s why we’re so sweet on them:

Bumblebees are incredibly important pollinators, and have key roles in supporting natural biodiversity and human agriculture. But, in the past century, bumblebee populations have crashed, with two species becoming extinct in the UK.

The BumbleBee Conservation Trust is committed to increasing the number of bumblebees across the UK. They have four main aims:

• Enhance the understanding of bumblebee ecology and conservation
• Increase the quality and quantity of bumblebee habitats
• Inspire and enable a diverse range of people to take action for bumblebees
• Be an effective and sustainable organisation

Over here at Amplitude, we’re thrilled to be partnering with The Bumblebee Conservation Trust, and can’t wait to see what they do with the honey – sorry, we mean ‘money’ – we donate on our clients’ bee-half.

The Story So Far

To the end of 2022, Amplitude’s Your Planet Your Choice campaign resulted in…

• 4,390 trees planted
• 132 orangutans sponsored
• £2,780 donated to clearing the oceans of plastic

We can’t wait to see how much our clients help us donate over the coming 12 months, and how much support we’re able to provide to the UK’s bumblebee populations.
